AQUABOX

The Standard AQUABOX

Aquabox with Aquafilter Family
Standard Aquabox contents;
  • AquaFilter Family Unit
  • Drainage tap
  • 2 survival bags
  • Instruction "cartoon"

The Standard AQUABOX comprises a robust rigid plastic container and includes an AquaFilter Family (based on well proven micropore technology) that will provide sufficient drinking and general washing water for a family of six for well over a year.

  • Over 18,000 litres of potable water that is capable of meeting the needs of a family of six for well over a year.
  • 2 Survival Bags are included for the family to use to either sleep in or to gather all their belongings into when they first receive the Aquabox.
  • Humanitarian Aid that will enable the victims of the disaster to begin to rebuild their life and to give them some dignity in their hour of need.

The Aquabox is specifically designed with Rotary Clubs, Inner Wheel Clubs, Individual Supporters, Schools, Churches, Scouts, Guides and other Community Groups in mind. On receipt of the box, the donor group fills the box with a range of humanitarian aid items selected from our published list. Note that foodstuffs, drugs and medicines should not be included.(See "Filling an Aquabox").

Each and every Standard Aquabox is uniquely numbered. The cost includes the cost of delivery to you and its return to our central warehouse in Cromford, once you have filled it, via your local Parcelforce office plus a contribution to its shipping to its final destination, onward distribution and monitoring.

On their return to Cromford, the boxes are then shipped either by aid agencies or direct by us to areas of need in the most appropriate way.

The box itself can be used by the recipient family for many years to come, for example as a vermin proof rice store.

The insertion of a personal note by senders inviting a personal response is encouraged. On rare occasions a "feed-back" reply may be received. Please let us know if this happens

AQUABOX GOLD

Aquabox Gold - prefilled with optimal humanitarian aid
An Aquabox Gold plus contents;
  • AquaFilter Family
  • muslin
  • Drainage tap
  • 2 survival bags
  • Instructional "cartoon"
  • Filled with new, specially purchased,
    humanitarian goods

The AQUABOX GOLD is a special version of our Standard AQUABOX. It is packed by the Aquabox team and filled with new, specially purchased, humanitarian goods to meet the basic needs of the recipients of our Standard Aquaboxes ... and more.

The box is filled to capacity bringing the weight up the maximum shipping weight of 25kg.

This option nudges Aquabox into a new era, one where our supporters can fund the filling of Aquaboxes with a wide range of new, non-clothing. We now limit our capacity to service Aquabox Gold within our existing premises mainly on the grounds of cost pressures.

This new product is in response to a number of our sponsors who have commented that they sometimes find it difficult to fill as many boxes as they would like. By centrally purchasing the goods on a wholesale basis, we are able to offer a very financially attractive alternative to Standard Aquaboxes since we can allocate the cost of Parcelforce transport of the Standard Boxes around the UK towards the cost of purchasing of the aid items.

The Aquabox Gold humanitarian aid packing list exceeds our basic recommended “Standard Aquabox” packing list. It includes at least another ten items or so together with an AquaFilter Family water purification unit capable of producing 18,000 litres of potable water, enough water for a family of six for well over eighteen months, including general hygiene water. The Aquabox Gold does not include clothing.

AQUABOX COMMUNITY

Aquabox community
Aquabox Community Contents;
  • One AquaFilter Community
  • Drainage tap
  • Set of Instructions

The Aquabox Community encompasses an AquaFilter Community that is based on the use the same well proven micropore technology of the AquaFilter Family. It is shipped in the same robust ridged plastic container as those used for the Standard Aquaboxes. Each box has a capacity of roughly 75 litres and this forms the basis of the AquaFilter Community unit.

Every AquaFilter Community is capable of generating up to 500,000 litres of drinking water from the local contaminated water sources. This is enough basic drinking water for 100 families of 6 (600 people) for well over a year and half; over 500 tonnes of drinking water.

  • Aquabox Community contains only the filtration unit and does not contain the ancillary survival bags or the humanitarian aid items of the Standard Aquabox.
  • Aquabox Community’s are not sent out for filling, but are available for sponsorship via donations. (See Order Form)
  • Aquabox Communities are produced and despatched to areas of dire need and where their distribution can be well monitored by the distributing aid agencies.
  • Aquabox Communities are often sent out to supplement each full container load shipment of Standard Aquaboxes.
  • Aquabox Communities are also particularly useful in meeting the drinking water needs of the hospitals and schools in the disaster struck areas.
